Ensuring Fairness, Transparency, and Accountability

At Malla Reddy Deemed to Be University (MRDU), the Ombudsperson serves as an impartial authority dedicated to upholding justice, transparency, and ethical conduct within the academic community. The Ombudsperson plays a vital role in addressing grievances, resolving disputes, and safeguarding the rights of students, faculty, and staff in accordance with UGC regulations and institutional policies.

Key Roles of the Ombudsperson

  • Independent Grievance Redressal Acts as a neutral and independent body to receive, investigate, and resolve complaints related to academic, administrative, and behavioral issues.
  • Ensuring Procedural Fairness Ensures that all grievance-handling procedures are conducted fairly, transparently, and without bias.
  • Safeguarding Student Rights Protects the interests of students by addressing concerns related to admissions, examinations, harassment, disciplinary actions, and other academic matters.
  • Monitoring Institutional Compliance Reviews university practices to ensure alignment with UGC guidelines, statutory norms, and ethical standards.
  • Facilitating Dialogue and Resolution Encourages constructive dialogue between stakeholders to resolve conflicts amicably and promote a harmonious campus environment.

Responsibilities of the Ombudsperson

  • Receive written complaints from students, faculty, or staff regarding grievances or violations of institutional policies
  • Conduct impartial investigations and seek relevant documentation or testimony
  • Recommend corrective actions or policy changes to the university administration
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of all parties involved
  • Submit periodic reports to the university and regulatory bodies on grievance trends and resolutions
  • Promote awareness about grievance redressal mechanisms and ethical conduct across campus
  • Ensure timely resolution of complaints within the prescribed time frame
  • Uphold the principles of justice, equity, and institutional integrity
