National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The NCC at MRDU instills discipline, patriotism, and leadership through structured military training and civic service. Established under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948, NCC is a legacy of the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) and continues to be a cornerstone of youth development in India.

Vision

To develop leadership, character, and a spirit of service among students while preparing them to contribute to national security and civic order.

Motto

“Unity and Discipline” (Ekta aur Anushasan) – the guiding principle of NCC, reflected in its tri-color flag representing the Army (Red), Navy (Blue), and Air Force (Light Blue), encircled by 17 lotus petals for each State Directorate.

Objectives

  • Provide basic military training and instill officer-like qualities
  • Promote national integration, discipline, and civic responsibility
  • Encourage participation in rescue operations, traffic control, and civil defense
  • Develop leadership and teamwork through camps, drills, and community service
