Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)

The aim of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) at Malla Reddy (MR) Deemed to be University is to promote entrepreneurship among youth and nurture a passion for self-employment. As entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as a vital driver of economic growth, this cell creates avenues for new knowledge-based innovative hi-tech ventures, industries, and technopreneurs — turning job seekers into job creators.

Recognizing the national importance of initiatives like "Make in India" and "Start-up India", the EDC strengthens entrepreneurial qualities in budding professionals. The University provides technical support, mentorship, and infrastructure to transform innovative ideas into scalable business ventures.

We empower students by bridging technical knowledge with business acumen, offering structured mentorship, pitch exposure, and industry networking to turn creative concepts into sustainable enterprises.”

To be the knowledge resource center, providing a dynamic platform to instill the passion of entrepreneurship among students and faculty members.

Objectives & Key Responsibilities

Primary Objective: To develop entrepreneurial zeal among students on a continuous basis and prepare them to undertake independent technology development or self-employment during their work life.

1 Organize Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps, EDPs, and Faculty Development Programmes.
2 Develop and introduce curriculum on Entrepreneurship Development across academic programs.
3 Conduct research surveys to identify entrepreneurial opportunities in S&T and Service sectors.
4 Guide prospective entrepreneurs on project reports, loans, and technical facilities.
5 Organize guest lectures, seminars, and industrial exposure visits for trainees.
6 Provide testing, calibration, design, pilot plant facilities, and Intellectual Property Rights support.

Organized in association with MIC under IIC 6.0 Calendar Quarter-4 Activity in the MBA Seminar Hall. Keynote speaker Dr. C. Sharmeela (Professor, Anna University) emphasized converting innovative ideas into market-ready products. Mr. M.U. Balaji explained Government startup funding schemes.

Workshop delivered by Mr. Vijay Kiran Agastya (Founder and MD, MentorMe Career Intelligence). The speaker highlighted how angel investors assume calculated risk and support high-growth venture founders.
